About twenty-five miles off the coast of Los Angeles sits the island of Catalina. Looking for a sandy beach? You won't find one here. But you will find an amazing array of water sports and activities, from swimming and snorkeling to parasailing. Catalina's nightlife may not be as crazy as what's available on the mainland, but there's still always something to do.
The other real reason to go to Catalina is to experience some of the best nature preserves in the United States. Take a guided eco-tour through the island's interior-you'll see buffalo, indigenous quail and fox, and maybe even a bald eagle. The surrounding waters are some of the clearest and bluest you'll ever see.
