Dominican Republic

While places like the Bahamas, Cancún, and South Padre Island are overcrowded and overpriced during spring break, more and more students are turning to lesser known but equally exotic locations to bask in the sun and enjoy spring break bashes.

Odd as it may seem, the Dominican Republic is a hugely popular tourist destination and one of the best vacation package deals you can get. It's got the beautiful beaches, the impressive mountain ranges, and the truly breathtaking rivers and waterfalls of Jamaica, but now you can get it at a steal if you book an all-inclusive package.

Hit the Amber Coast for 75 miles worth of beautiful beaches stretching east of Puerto Plata, with several restaurants, markets and world-resort hotels catering to tourists.

Cabarete is the ideal tourist stop with an enormous beautiful bay, considered one of the top places in the world for windsurfing and then stay the night for some of the most happening bars and discos with live music and well-dressed party people.

Sosúa is another tourist town with yet even more sandy shores and coconut trees. The beaches are littered with sunbathers, the restaurant scene is pleasant, and the nightlife is wild.
