DublinThe capital city of Ireland is the very beating heart of the Emerald Isle, home to an indomitable spirit that even its very troubled recent history can’t take away. As a result, Dublin has enjoyed prosperity in the past few years, making this city of 495,781 inhabitants one of the most beautiful and enchanting tourist destination in the world.
For those who love to shop, you don’t want to miss O’Connell Street and Parnell Square, positively bursting with shops of all sorts for tourists and locals. If you want to go a little more high end, then head on down to South Dublin and experience Grafton Street, the city’s most exclusive shopping thoroughfare.
The center of Dublin nightlife is the historic Temple Bar, where you can enjoy a pint and the friendliest company the city has to offer in its wealth of pubs, galleries, restaurants, and shops. And after a long evening of revelry, if you need an economic and quaint place to stay, Gardiner Street is the premiere bed and breakfast hotspot of the city.
For those daytime excursions, take a multimedia tour of the Guinness Beer Storehouse, where one of the world’s most favorite beers is made, and then head up to the Gravity Bar on the rooftop for your own taste of the so-called world’s finest brew.
You can experience some scenery even in the heart of the city by taking a stroll through Phoenix Park, which makes New York’s Central Park and London’s Hampstead Heath look like gardens in comparison. Phoenix Park is home to a vast array of wildlife, lakes, and gardens while also housing hurling, cricket, football, and motor-racing facilities.
Of course, Dublin’s most popular attraction is the Book of Kells, a lavish and ornate illustrated manuscript produced by Celtic monks during the medieval period, housed at Trinity College. Not only is the college campus quite beautiful to roam in, but the Book of Kells is extremely impressive to see as well.
