HoustonLike everything else in Texas, Houston is big. The Bayou City—is a newly revitalized urban area with numerous attractions for the entire family. A diverse city with many interests, Houston plays host to both the nation’s largest rodeo and the nation’s largest Renaissance fair. As the biggest city in Texas, and the fourth-biggest in the country, Houston is truly a modern American city with a wealth of culture and a bright future ahead.
Close to the heart of downtown Houston is the Museum District, a gathering of museums both large and small. You’ll find the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Contemporary Arts here, as well as the Museum of Natural History and the Children’s Museum. The Houston Zoo is open 365 days a year and is home to over 3,500 exotic animals.
Located just south of the city is a cultural attraction you won’t find anywhere else—the Space Center Houston. One of the top family attractions in Houston, the Space Center features a museum as well as guided tours of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
Houston is also a great sports town. The Houston Astros, Houston Rockets (NBA), Houston Comets (WNBA), and new NFL franchise Houston Texans all call the city home. The metro Houston area features 165 public and private golf courses. Nearby Clear Lake provides 2,000 acres of space for boating enthusiasts.
