Keelung CityAt the northern tip of Taiwan lies the country’s second largest seaport, Keelung. Keelung is a picturesque coastal town, pushed to the ocean’s edge by steep, sloped green mountains. The city’s growing wealth lies in its well-known fishing and tourist industries, with approximately 400,000 residents and thousands of visitors, both international and domestic, annually.
You’ll be charmed by the sheer quaint beauty of this city, with its scenic coast, impressive mountains, and traditional Chinese buildings. Keelung has some of the country’s largest and most famous markets, specializing in local food and items. Its narrow crowded streets dotted with Chinese lanterns, like Jioufen Old Street, climb all the way up the mountainside and you can enjoy a delicious lunch while looking over Keelung Harbor.
If you’re feeling hungry, be sure to check out the Bisha Fishing Port and Miaokou, of Temple Space, for the magnificent variety of seafood, freshly caught. Temple Space also serves up some amazing traditional gourmet snacks in front of the Dianji Temple. In addition to the local cuisine, you also have a great selection of Fukienese, Cantonese, aboriginal, Dutch, Spanish, and Japanese dishes
