MiamiLocated on the tip of southeast Florida and known for its diverse culture and ethnicities, 15 miles of golden beaches, and colorful nightlife, the city of Miami comes in as the fourth most popular tourist destination in the United States.
As the Gateway and Capital of the Americas, the city hosts a population of almost 400,000 people, 60% of which are Hispanic. There are 13 different neighborhoods that make up the city proper, and nearly all are rich with history, culture, and lively entertainment.
Miami is full of interesting and appealing tourist attractions and historical landmarks. Fulfill all your shopping desires in Miami’s Miracle Mile, one of the city’s major shopping regions, or visit the Miami Metrozoo and Seaquarium – two of the finest animal parks in America. For nature enthusiasts, take an airboat tour through Miami Everglades National Park, home to several large swamps, marshes, and a huge range of wildlife.
Downtown, you’ll find Miami full of clothes and jewelry shops, restaurants, and cafes while the all-day, all-night South Beach Area boasts Miami’s top nightclubs and hottest beaches. Got stars in your eyes? Visit the Coconut Grove District to spot all your favorite vacationing celebrities.
This city lends itself well for transportation of all kinds, whether you like to walk or prefer to drive. You can also take advantage of Miami’s integrated public transportation system, including inter-city greyhound buses, the Metrorail – Miami’s underused but very efficient monorail system – which extends 21 miles throughout the city, taxis, and bicycle, especially on those long stretches of beaches.
