SpainDestinations in Spain
A country of over 43 million people drenched in the past with a particularly modern spin, Spain has always been just a little bit different than other European countries with its distinct, colorful culture and vibrant history that is still reflected in its regions, cities, architecture, and people today.
Tourists flock to Spain for its beauty, cuisine, ideal weather, and friendly atmosphere. The capital, Madrid, is also Spain’s largest, and it can become swiftly addicting with its wild and long nightlife, romantic atmosphere, historic buildings, and lively streets.
In addition to the revelries almost every night, there are some truly amazing museums, including the Museo del Prado and buildings like the Palacio Real.
Barcelona is probably one of the most fashionable cities in the world after Paris and Milan. A dynamic and stylish metropolis where the fiestas are week-long, the fashion is cutting, the architecture is dazzling, the music is loud, and the food is flavorful. Traverse streets dominated by Gaudi architecture into museums and street-sides. Venture from La Rambla to Barri Gòtic.
Sevilla, or Seville, is full of artistic and cultural charm. Come and see the city’s two greatest monuments, the Muslim Alcázar and the Christian cathedral, filled with ornate design and magnificent architecture. These and several other buildings in the city are World Heritage Sites. In April, Sevilla’s Feria de Abril week-long party shakes up the whole city.
If you get tired of the late nights and constant activity, take a breather by traveling up to mountainous Las Hurdes, virtually untouched by tourism. Littered with traditional stone houses, this quiet city is beautiful with tranquil water falls, hamlets, and pathways for ideal walks.
